A note from the founder.
Most trading research fails for reasons that have little to do with the quality of the idea. What breaks is the process around it, and a process is something you can build and repair. That is why the firm exists.
Signals were the easy part. The machinery that separates a real one from a mirage, before any money is committed, took the real work, and we built it first. Every strategy passes through it, including the ones I am attached to. We trade only our own capital, and at our own pace. We would rather be right than impressive.
The interesting problem was never the signal. It was building something that could tell a real one from a mirage.
